Betty Wittenberg, age 90, formerly of Lambertville, Michigan, passed away on October 2, 2015 at her residence in Kingston at Perrysburg. She was born on November 8, 1924 to the late Hazel and Isaac Davis in Columbia, South Carolina.
After WWII, Betty met her future husband, Val when he was discharged at the Charleston South Carolina Naval Base where she worked as a Secretary. They married in Charleston and then relocated to Toledo. She retired from Toledo Hospital after 20 years in the Business Office. After retirement, Betty was a volunteer for Meals On Wheels and Toledo Hospital. She loved to play Bridge. Betty and her husband traveled extensively to Europe, the Mediterranean and Asia.
In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her husband of almost 60 years, Val; daughter, Susan Hutton and son-in-law, Jim Hutton; siblings, Dubose, Buist, Wynton and Barbara. Left to cherish her memory are her sons, Mark (Mary Beth) and Dwight (Pat); brother, Rhett (Claudia); grandchildren, Joshua, Benjamin, Allison, Elizabeth, Nicholas and Katherine and great-grandchildren, Jackson, Avery and Elijah.

The family will receive guests from 1-3:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 17, 2015 at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4752 Heatherdowns Blvd., Toledo (419-381-1900). The Memorial Service will begin at 3:00 p.m.
