Betty V. Murphy, 80, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, May 1, 2013 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio.

Betty was a loving and devoted mother and friend who loved to serve the Lord. She also loved nature and the outdoors. Betty worked for Riverside Hospital until she retired as a Housekeeper.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Donald Ralph Murphy; sons, Harry Sydney Murphy and Donald Ray Murphy; grandson, Donald Jordan Murphy and great-grandson, Joshua Cox-Murphy. Left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Carmella (Paul) Zills-Gartee, Sandra (Richard) Scott, Bonita Murphy and Dessie (Edward) Bell; sons, Michael (Colette) Murphy and John (Joan) Murphy; siblings, Joe Everett, Raymond Everett and Patricia Emerson; 21 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great-grandchildren.

The family will receive guests on Sunday, May 5, 2013 from 2-8:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4752 Heatherdowns Blvd., Toledo (419-381-1900). The Funeral Service will be held on Monday at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be held at Toledo Memorial Park.
