Betty Surprise
January 19, 1923 — February 7, 2013
Betty Surprise, 90, went to be with her Lord on February 7, 2013. She was born on January 19, 1923 to the late Ruth and Clifford LaVoy in Toledo, Ohio.
Betty was a long-time member of Aldersgate United Methodist Church. She did a lot of volunteer work for several different organizations throughout her life. Betty loved traveling; she especially enjoyed visiting the Islands of Hawaii and Cancun. Family was very important to Betty and she loved getting together with everyone for the holidays.
In addition to her parents; Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Fred Surprise and sister, Virginia Donnelly. Left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Sharon Monaghan, Ruthann Doyle and Joyce (Keith) Hackworth; companion, Harold Facker; sisters, Donith Smith and Joanne Ehman; grandchildren, Candice Monaghan, John Monaghan, Greg (Stephanie) Paquin, Nicole (Tim) Zbikowski, Tom Doyle and Ashley Doyle; 16 great-grandchildren; 4 special great-great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank Kingston Care Center and Hospice of Northwest Ohio for their care and compassion.
The family will receive guests on Wednesday, February 13, 2013 from 2-8:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd., Toledo (419-473-0300). A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday at 10:00 a.m. Pastor Dana Ward officiating. Interment will be held at Toledo Memorial Park.
