Betty Ransom

Betty J. Ransom, age 86, passed away Sunday, April 18th surrounded by her loving family. She was born on October 18th, 1923 to Frederick and Fannie (Shiley) Ohm in Toledo, Ohio. Betty married Lloyd H. Ransom on October 19th, 1945. He preceded her in death March 23rd, 2001.

Betty's passion in life was her family. She was everyone's , "Ma." She was the kindest, most loving and giving person to all she ever met. Her biggest joy was to make all of us laugh! Betty loved the silliest things and her family never knew what she was going to do next. She also loved to sing and dance (Betty met Lloyd at the Trianon Ballroom), playing cards, bowling, puzzles, laying out on, "Barrington Beach," hanging out at local watering holes, going to Devils Lake and spending time with her kids and grandkids. Everyone who knew her, loved her and she will be greatly missed.

She is survived by her daughters, Diana Keefe, Cheryl Kartorie (Dale Marr), Deborah (William) Heckerthorn, Laura (William) Gorr, Virginia (Mark) Byrne; son, Christopher (Carol) Ransom; 16 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.
