Betty Ruth Pleiss

Betty Ruth Pleiss, age 84, of Holland, Ohio passed away peacefully with her family by her side on December 7, 2018. Betty was born August 15, 1934 in Holland to Walter and Rebecca (Holly) Taube.

Betty Ruth married the love of her life Theodore Pleiss on July 7, 1951 and have shared 67 wonderful years together. She had a passion for cooking, sewing and spending time with her family. This passion allowed her to work at Crissey Elementary for 42 years, most recently as the Kitchen Manager. She was one of two original volunteer fire dispatchers for Crissey Fire Station.

Betty Ruth loved raising her two daughters and baking cookies with her grandchildren. Any time spent with her family was the happiest of times for her.

In addition to her parents, Betty was also preceded in death by her Brothers, Thomas and Infant Richard (Dickey) Taube. She will be greatly missed by her loving Husband Theodore William Pleiss; Daughters, Deborah (Byron) Gambrell, Kathy (Rob) Wepler; Sisters, Jacqulin (Orlando) Bruno, Judith (Irvin) Bruno; Brother, Walter Taube Jr.; Grandchildren, Byron Jr., Eric, Chad, Kyle, Tyler; Great-Grandchildren, Bryce, Miranda, Leah, Mark, Ava, Caleb, Khloe, Larissa, Elizabeth, Jimmy; Great Great-Grandchild, Bryce Jr.; and many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

The family will receive guests Friday, December 14, 2018 from 2:00 pm ~ 8:00 pm at Newcomer West Sylvania Chapel, 3655 King Road (419) 392-9500. Funeral Services will begin Saturday at 11:00 am at the funeral home followed by a Graveside Service at Toledo Memorial Park.

The family would like to thank Ohio Living Home Health and Hospice and a special thank you to the nurses and staff of Parkcliffe Alzheimer's Community building 7 for their loving care.
