Betty L. Pleasant, age 78, of Toledo, Ohio passed away October 30, 2016 at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born April 12, 1938 in Stonega, Virginia to Roy and Lucinda (Sizemore) Pleasant. Betty was a beloved volunteer at Dorr Street Elementary School for more than 22 years. She loved flowers, tending to her garden, and decorating for the holidays.
Betty is survived by her siblings, Linda Rogers, June Shuman and James (Rosemary) Pleasant; nieces and nephews, Amy, Jason, Zach, Drew, Cindi, Devon, Vicki, Dan, Epiphany, Jeff, Chris, Jackie, Chris, Todd, Teri, Becky, Billy, Roy, Michelle and Kim. In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her siblings, Gertrude, E.C., Virginia, Ruth, Margaret and Judith.
The family will receive guests Wednesday, November 2, 2016 from 2:00 pm - 8:00 pm at Newcomer Funeral Home - SW Chapel, 4752 Heatherdowns Blvd. Toledo (419-381-1900). Funeral Services will begin Thursday at 10:00 am at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Toledo Memorial Park Cemetery.
