Betty Maves

Betty L. (Gabriel) Maves, age 79, of Toledo passed away Wednesday, January 11th, 2006 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Perrysburg. She was born May 27th, 1926 in Marquette, Michigan. Betty was a longtime member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church. She enjoyed sewing, knitting and quilting, often contributing handmade scarves, gloves and hats to the homeless. She also cherished the time she spent with family, friends and her cats, "Odie" and "Trudy".

In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her son, Richard A. Maves. She is survived by her loving husband of 59 years, Donald O. Maves, sons, Michael D. and his wife Betsy Maves of Chicago, IL and Brian E. Maves of Tulsa, OK; 7 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.

The family will receive guests Saturday from 2-5:00 p.m. in the Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd. (419-473-0300). Funeral Services will follow and burial will be in Ottawa Hills Memorial Park.

The family would like to thank close family friend, Janet Smith who helped care for Betty.
