Betty L. Barnard

Betty Barnard, age 91, went to Heaven on January 8, 2013 from Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Perrysburg. Betty proved herself to be a wonderfully dependable mother, grandmother, aunt and friend. She faithfully attended Calvary Bible Chapel for many years. Betty graduated from Whitmer High School in 1939 and lived almost her entire life in the Westwood School area. She retired in 1981 from O.B.E.S. after 23 years of service as a claims examiner. Betty was much loved, respected and cherished by all who knew her.

Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Lloyd Barnard, Jr. (died in January 2000). She is survived by three children, Joseph Lloyd (Nadya) Barnard III, Jeanne Ruth (Rev. Steve) Horning and Carol Ann (Steve) Mowery; eight grandchildren, Joseph Lloyd Barnard IV, Gary Barnard, Hannah (Wesley) Strickland, Sarah Horning, Steven (Kari) Mowery, John Horning, Mary Beth Horning and Matthew Mowery; 8 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

The family will receive guests from 2-8:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 13, 2013 at Newcomer Funeral Home, Toledo, Ohio (419-473-0300). Funeral Services will begin in the funeral home on Monday, January 14, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow in Toledo Memorial Park.

The family takes comfort from applying this Scripture to their beloved Betty, saying that she, "fought a good fight, finished the course, kept the faith, henceforth there is laid up for (her) a crown of righteousness which the LORD shall give to (her)." (2 Timothy 4:7,8).
