Betty J. Slough

Betty Slough, age 86, of Whitehouse, passed away peacefully, Wednesday, January 15, 2014 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Toledo. She was born on September 27, 1927 to Clure and Margaret (Hicks) Rich in Toledo. Betty was very talented in crafts, was an avid reader, enjoyed gardening and collected stamps. She loved nothing more than spending time with her family, especially her granddaughters. Betty will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Hobart; son, Steven J. Slough; and brothers, Arnold, William and Fred Rich. Betty is survived by her loving daughters, Barbara (Neil) Slough and Brenda (Steven) Ruckreigle; granddaughter, Shana Ruckreigle; great-granddaughter, Rhiannon; and many nieces and nephews.

The family will receive guests on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd., Toledo (419-473-0300). Funeral Services will begin Wednesday at 1:00 p.m. in the funeral home. Interment will follow in Ottawa Hills Memorial Park.
