Betty J. Rashleigh

Betty J. Rashleigh, age 86, went Home to the loving arms of her Savior, Jesus Christ, and her loving husband of 66 years on Thursday, August 1, 2013. Betty was born on November 20, 1926 to Leo and Esther (Langdon) Hoffman. She graduated from St. Ursula Academy and Mercy School of Nursing, Class of 1947. Betty was employed for many years with Dr's. Kappus, Miller & Pigott. Later in life Betty attained two additional degree's including her Pediatric Nurse Practitioner License at the age of 54.

She married Robert Dean Rashleigh on August 2, 1947 and together they had nine children; Barbara (Donald) Schrader, David (Susie), Gary (Lynn), Kay (Mark) Koltz, Robert, Beth Ann (Yannis) Poulos, Richard (Veronica), John (Cindy) and Janice (Ronald) Jackson. Betty and Bob were blessed with 22 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren. Also left to cherish her memory are her three sisters, Corrine, Marlene and Pat. In addition to her husband, Bob she was preceded in death by her grandson, Ricky Rashleigh.

The family will receive guests on Monday, August 5, 2013 from 3-8:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd. (419-473-0300). A Scripture Service will be held in the funeral home on Monday at 7:00 p.m. Final Prayers will be recited in the funeral home on Tuesday, August 6, 2013 at 9:15 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:00 a.m. at Corpus Christi University Parish, 2955 Dorr St.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Sunset Village Retirement Fund.

The family wishes to specially thank Sunset Village and Overmeyer Court Staff as well as Promedica Hospice staff for their diligent care and love they provided to Betty.
