Betty Bensch

Betty L. Bensch, age 85, formerly of Toeldo passed away Thursday, October 21, 2010 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Toledo. She was born April 15th, 1925 to Harry and Hazel (Lugabihl) Eckenrode in Rossford, Ohio. Betty started working for the DeVilbiss Company as a payroll clerk on January 13, 1969, later retiring in 1990. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, baking, craft making and gardening. Betty was known for her unselfishness and her heart of gold. She will be greatly missed by everyone who knew her.

In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her sisters, Helen Stribrny and Rosemary VanArsdale; brother, Lawrence Eckenrode and great granddaughter, Kallie Barefield. Betty is survived by her loving children, Rocky O. (Carol) Bensch; Trudy A. Bensch and Penny M. (Jeff) Handy; grandchildren, Paul Bensch, Edward (Darla) Harmon, Neal (Amy) Harmon, Alycia Bensch, Jacob Harmon, Jami Verbon, David (Danielle) Handy and Garrett (Nataysha) Handy; 9 great grandchildren and 2 great great-granddaughters; one expected great-great granddaughter and special friend, Arlene McConnell.

The family will receive guests Tuesday from 2-8:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd. (419-473-0300). Funeral Services will begin Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home. Interment will follow at Toledo Memorial Park.
