Betty A. Maher

July 11, 1930 — September 24, 2013

Betty A. Maher, age 83, passed away on Tuesday, September 24, 2013 after a long and courageous battle with cancer. She was born on July 11, 1930 to George King and Marie (Herman) Reed in Toledo. She was a loving and supportive wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister; she will be dearly missed by all who loved her.

Left to cherish her memory are her four sons, Steve, Bob (Sue), Scott (Holly) and Shawen (Jen) Maher; twelve grandchildren; nineteen great-grandchildren; sisters, Kay (Ed), Carol (Jim), Shirley, Denny (Albert), Bonnie and Carolyn (Jack); nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 50 years, James Maher and son, Jeffrey Maher.

The family will receive guests on Sunday, September 29, 2013 from 2-8:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4752 Heatherdowns Blvd. (419-381-1900). Funeral Services will begin in the funeral home on Monday, September 30, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. Interment will follow in Ft. Meigs Union Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Promedica Ebeid Hospice or a charity of the donor's choice.
