Bertha Gibson

Bertha Gibson, age 96, of Maumee, passed away surrounded by her family on December 8, 2019 at the University of Toledo Medical Center . Bertha was born May 8, 1923 in Tazwell, TN to Julius and Charity (Nolan) Clark. Bertha was employed at Woolworth's as a cashier for many years before retiring. In her free time, Bertha enjoyed sewing and playing with her grandchildren. Her 'girltrips' with her daughters were also very important to her, Brown County, IN was special to her.

In addition to her parents, Bertha was also preceded in death by her husband Otis, son, Jerry Gibson, brothers; Thomas and Carl Clark, sister, Irene Clay and granddaughter, Marilyn Gibson. Left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Dale (Larry) Woolley, Brenda Carol (Roger) Blausey, Debbie (Melvin) Lee and Pamela (Brian) Sullivan, daughter-in-law Sue Gibson, grandchildren; Stephen, Christopher (Anna), Adelbert, Gretchen (Judd), Amy, Scott (Kristi), Aaron, Shannon (Craig), Noelle (Kyle) and Noah, 14 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren, granddogger Maeby, along with numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

The family will receive guests Thursday, December 12, 2019 from 4:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - SW Chapel, 4752 Heatherdowns Blvd. (419-381-1900). Funeral Services will begin Friday at 10:00 a.m. in the funeral home followed by burial at Restlawn Memorial Park in Perrysburg.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Bertha's memory.
