Bertha C. Domanowski, age 91 of Toledo passed away Sunday, October 2nd, 2011 after a brief illness at Crittenton Hospital in Rochester, Michigan. She was born January 9th, 1920 to Konstansty and Clara Cybulski in Toledo. Bertha had worked at Bellmans Supermarket Centre for nearly 25 years. She was a strong-willed Polish woman who was proud of her heritage and always put her family's needs first. Bertha was an excellent cook, her family will miss the classic Polish dishes that she prepared for them. Her husband, Frank enjoyed taking Bertha to the Polish Festival every summer. They also bowled together for many years on different leagues throughout Toledo. Aside from taking care of her family and working full time, she kept her home spotless and often lent her cleaning expertise to her family. Bertha was very selfless, she visited her sister-in-law who lived in a special needs facility as often as she could.
Left to cherish her memory are her loving husband of 68 wonderful years, Frank J. Domanowski; son, Jerry (Peggy) and daughter, Barb (Wayne) Spragg; grandchildren, Robert, Melanie (Sam), Vicky Alvarez (Tony) and Michael; seven great-grandchildren and sister, Francis Michalak. Preceding her in death were her parents; brothers, Clement and Frank and sister, Florence.
The family will receive guests Wednesday from 2 – 8:00 p.m. Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd. (419-473-0300). Funeral Services will begin in the funeral home Thursday at 10:30 a.m. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery.
