Bernice L. Langham, age 93, formerly of Sylvania, passed away peacefully on Friday, December 23, 2016 at Bowling Green Manor. She was born on March 9, 1923 to Christy and Alta (Russell) Miller in Sylvania. Bernice was a graduate of Burnham High School. In her younger years she was a Girl Scout Troop Leader. She was a longtime member of Gloria Dei Lutheran Church and a member of Sylvania Senior Center. For over 25 years Bernice and her husband, Harold, were members of the Toledo Craftsman Guild. Harold created the wooden children's toys while Bernice added the finishing touches. For years, they sold these wooden toys at local craft shows and together they had quite the business.
Left to cherish her memory are her children, Pat (Larry) Mizelle, Darlene Dixon, Diana Klueter (Tom Vermett), Wayne (Carol) Langham and Sherry Burrey (Neal Ludwig); many precious grandchildren and great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Harold W. Langham; daughters, Judith Rollf and Marilyn Ritchey and great-grandson, Alex.
The family will receive guests on Thursday, December 29, 2016 from 4:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd. (419-473-0300). Her funeral service will begin in the funeral home on Friday, December 30, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. with Rev. Richard Habrecht officiating. Interment will follow in Ravine Cemetery in Sylvania, Ohio.
