Bernice A. Keeling, age 82, a longtime resident of Toledo, passed away Saturday, December 31st, 2011 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Toledo surrounded by her family. She was born February 27th, 1929 to Frank and Goldie (Hosler) Bladel in Toledo. Bernice grew up in the Shoreland area and went on to marry Roy E. Keeling on September 20th, 1947 in Toledo and together they raised two lovely daughters.
In addition to her parents, Bernice was preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, Roy Keeling; daughter, Vickie Lynn Keeling; brother, Robert Bladel and son-in-law, Jack Ewing. She is survived by her loving daughters, Susan Ewing and Nancy (Mike) Cappelletty; grandchildren, Michael (Beth) Ewing, Sara (Ben) St. John, Rocky Cappelletty and Nicci (Derrick) Harder; great grandchildren, Michael Rhoades, Mickey, Brody and Vinnie St. John, Bailie, Ava, Marisa and Laci Cappelletty. Also surviving Bernice is her special sister-in-law, Shirley Bladel.
A Private Service was held Thursday, January 5th, 2012 at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd. (419-473-0300). Entombment was at Toledo Memorial Park.
The Keeling Family would like to thank the nurses and aids of Hospice of Northwest Ohio for the kindness and care they showed to Bernice, especially Sallie.
