Bernard E. Hill
Bernard E. Hill, age 64 formerly of Toledo, passed away Sunday, February 6th, 2005 in his new home in Morganfield, Kentucky. He was born January 3, 1941 to Donald and Lois Hill in Toledo, Ohio. Bernie was a loving husband, dad and grandpa and a proud member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Bernie was a U.S. Army veteran, serving during the Korean Conflict as an Engineer Equipment Mechanic. He was employed with Daimler Chrysler for 30 years, retiring in 1992. Bernie also worked for Grogan Towne Chrysler in the Parts Department until March of 2004. He was an avid fan of Nascar, the Ohio State Buckeyes and the Green Bay Packers. Bernie was also a member of the American Legion Holland Post #646. Most importantly, he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Donald Hill; stepfather, Maynard Korth and brother, Robert Hill. Bernie is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Nancy (Jenkins) Hill; mother, Lois Korth; daughter, Deanna Walter of Toledo; son, Joseph (Loretta) Hill of Wauseon; grandchildren, Kregg and Joshua Walter; Tasha and Jasmine Cook and brothers, Donald (Nancy) Hill; Charles Hill and Harold (Elaine) Hill.
The family will receive guests Thursday from 2-8:00 p.m. at the Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd. (419-473-0300). A Rosary will be recited Thursday evening at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Services will begin Friday at 9:15 a.m. in the funeral home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. at St. Clement Catholic Church, 3030 Tremainsville Rd. Interment will follow in Restlawn Memorial Park.
