Bernadine Emily Nowicki

Bernadine "Berd" Emily Nowicki, age 88, resident of Toledo, Ohio, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Toledo, Ohio, on July 15, 1933, to the late Ralph and Emily (Deshetler) Hohn.

Bernadine graduated from Woodward High School, class of 1951. With the few jobs she had, the most rewarding job she loved was being a stay at home mom, taking care of her husband and children. Bernadine was a wonderful painter; she had won numerous awards for her realistic oil paintings. She was a great cook and enjoyed bird watching. Bernadine was a wonderful wife and mom; she was a warm person who greeted everyone with a smile and hug. She will truly be missed by all who knew her.

Those left to forever cherish her memory are her three sons, Fred (Josie), Wayne, and Robert; grandchildren, Kristi (Ryan), Brian, Alexis, and Adam; great grandchildren, Cameron and Madison; sister, Norma; and two brothers, Ralph and John.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Norman and two sisters, Charlene and Madeline.

A memorial gathering will take place at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made in Bernadine's name to Ohio Living Hospice, 1730 S. Reynolds Road, Toledo, Ohio 43614.
