Ben Ford, Jr.

Ben was born in Aberdeen, MS and grew up in Milwaukee, WI. When he was a teenager, he left home and joined the military. That was when he was first introduced to the good news of God's kingdom and decided to end his military career.

Ben loved the "big" trucks and became a licensed semi-truck driver until his disabling accident in 1990. It was after this that he was able to focus on his study of the Bible and progressed to dedication and baptism as one of Jehovah's Witnesses on April 7, 1993.

Ben later served as a Ministerial Servant. Even as his illness progressed he would try to do Bible reading. When he no longer could, his dear wife, Charlene, would read the Bible to him…even in his final days.

Ben continued to keep on the watch often asking, "When is Jehovah's day coming?" He was faithful to the end.

Survivors include: his wife Charlene; brother Nathaniel (Karen) Ford; sister Anne (Tom) Ford-Hinrichs; children Angelo (Sheila) Ford, Lester (Lamar) Salter, Patty Ford, Maria Ford, Ben (Peggy) Ford IV; step-children Sherry James, Dianne (Ray) Rhodes, Russell (Patsy) Kanzenbach; 13 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. Ben was preceded in death by his parents Ben and Lester Ford and his daughter Selena Patrick.

The Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, January 7, 2017 at 4:00 p.m. at The Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 139 Richards Road, Toledo, OH 43607.
