Belva J. Fitzgerald

Belva J. Fitzgerald, age 93, passed away Friday, March 19th, 2010 at Ebeid Hospice, Sylvania. She was born July 10th, 1916 to John and Maggie (Parker) Jenkins in Aulander, North Carolina. Belva was a cashier at Flower Hospital in the cafeteria for almost 20 years. She enjoyed crocheting, reading and spending time with her family.

In addition to her parents, Belva was preceded in death by her loving husband of 25 years, Sarge Fitzgerald. She is survived by her dear daughter, Barbara (James) Hamel; grandchildren, Laurie (Mark) Berndt; Gregory (Barbara) Hamel; James (Carol) Hamel; Steve (Heidi) Hamel and Julie (James) Hartford; great grandchildren, Mark (Andrea); Matthew (Becky) and Michael Berndt; Alexandra; Grant; Jenna; Lucas; Logan; Madeleine and Jack Hamel and Jordan; Hanna and Jacob Hartford and great great-grandchildren, Ethan and Dylan Berndt.

The family will receive guests Sunday from 3-7:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd. (419-473-0300). Funeral Services will begin Monday at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Ottawa Hills Memorial Park.
