Belva Gonyer, age 87, of Toledo, passed away Friday, April 7, 2006 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Toledo. She was born on August 8, 1918 to George and Eula Mae (Kelly) Baker in Genoa. Belva was the only girl out of nine children. She was a homemaker throughout her life raising her five children. Belva enjoyed traveling, camping and spending time working in her garden.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by six brothers, Peach, Dewey, Beryl, Keith, Nowell and Marvis Baker. She is survived by her loving husband of 69 years, Herbert Gonyer; children: Shirley (Bobby) Clark, Jane (Jim) Saltzman, Bob (Kay) Gonyer, Jim (Linda) Gonyer and Peggy Stalder; 9 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; 3 great great grandchildren; and brothers: Barry (Gloria), of Texas and Gene (Betty) Baker, of Indiana.
The family will receive guests on Monday, April 10, 2006 in the Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd., Toledo (419-473-0300) from 3 – 8:00 p.m. Funeral Services will be held Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. in the funeral home. Officiating will be Pastor Dave Claassen. Interment will follow in Toledo Memorial Park.
