Barbara Retzke

Barbara Lee (Roth) Retzke, 77, left to be with the Lord on August 3, 2012. She was born on February 12, 1935 to the late Lilda and Leland Roth in Toledo, Ohio.

Barbara graduated from DeVilbiss High School in 1953. She attended both Ohio State University and the University of Toledo. Barbara enjoyed working at Washington Local Library. She loved knitting hats, mittens and slippers for her family and those in need. Barbara was an avid Yankees and Tigers fan. She was also a member of both the Rosary Cathedral and Christ the King.

In addition to her parents, Barbara was preceded in death by her loving husband of 32 years, Paul R. Retzke; son, David L. Pioch; sister, Mary Ann (Roth) Gallagher and first husband of 18 years, Lawrence A. Pioch. Left to cherish her memory are her children, Catherine (Clyde) Appleby, Leland Pioch and Mark (Karen) Pioch; grandchildren, Michelle (Shawn) Gray, Robert Yaros, Rachel Pioch, Jennifer Pioch, Jordan Pioch, Clairissa Pioch, Isabelle Pioch and Blaise Pioch; great-grandchildren, Gaven Yaros, Abbey Gray, Aiden Gray and Cameron Gray and furry companion, her dog, Misty.

The Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, August 8, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at Christ the King Catholic Church, 4100 Harvest Lane, Toledo. The family will receive guests for one hour prior to Mass. Burial at Ottawa Hills Memorial Park.
