Barbara J. Napierala, age 64, of Toledo, passed away on Monday, May 15, 2017 at home after a brief illness. She was born on March 5, 1953 to Ollie and Emily (Mezinko) Napierala in Toledo. Barbara was a graduate of Central Catholic High School and St. Vincent's School of Nursing. For over 42 years she was a dedicated Registered Nurse at Mercy St. Vincent's Medical Center. When she wasn't working she enjoyed vegetable gardening, tending to her rose bushes, boat rides at the lake and her canine companions. Her nieces and nephews will remember her as being a nurturing and giving aunt. Throughout her lifetime she valued the relationships that she had with her close friends.
Left to cherish her memory are her siblings, Mary (Robert) Daney, Dr. Joe (Barb) Napierala, Julie Napierala and Theresa Napierala; nieces and nephews, John (Cheryl) Daney, Jeff (Lisa) Daney, Jennifer (Lee) Herman, Ben (Erica) Napierala, Lauren (Ryan) Fairbanks, Natalie (Jeremy) Hall, Katie (Mike) Napierala, Annie (Philip) Napierala and Steve Napierala; many great-nieces and great-nephews; special "like a sister" cousins, Joanne and Rosemary Kusz; canine daughter, Lana and her canine nephews and niece, Homer, Nash, Frito and Moosie. She was preceded in death by her parents.
The family will receive guests on Thursday, May 18, 2017 from 5-9:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd. (419-473-0300) with a Scripture Service in the funeral home at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Services will begin in the funeral home on Friday, May 19, 2017 at 9:00 a.m. followed by her Funeral Mass at 10:00 a.m. in Christ the King Parish, 4100 Harvest Lane, Toledo, OH 43623.
A special thank you to Barbara's co-workers at Mercy St. Vincent's Heart and Vascular Center for their loving and diligent attention to Barb while in their care. Also to Mary Jo, Renee and Annie for their support.
