Barbara Mehl

Barbara Joan Mehl, age 84, of Toledo, Ohio passed away on September 4, 2022 surrounded by her family. She was born in Toledo, Ohio on June 21, 1938 to the late John and Lennie Montague. Barbara married James Mehl on July 14, 1957, and together they raised three children. She was known as the "Cafeteria Lady" for 32 years, before retiring from the Toledo Board of Education. Barbara loved spending time with her family, and she raised her children with her sibling's children, spending countless hours, trips, and free time together. She was a proud Geeba to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Barbara was preceded in death by her husband, James M. Mehl; daughter, Laurie Lynn (Bill) Mehl; siblings, Jack Montague, Nancy Hartman, and Jean Brogan. She is survived by her children, Lisa Kessinger and Scott Mehl; grandchildren, Madison Lynn Mehl, James Alan Mehl, Steven (Kara) Kessinger, Jessica E. (Daniel Repp) Kessinger, and Dylon Kessinger; great-grandchildren, Steven Kessinger, Lyla Kessinger, Kyndra Kessinger, Gage Kessinger, and Piper Mehl; and sister, Sue Ellen Karns.

There will be no services. Donations in Barbara's memory may be given to the Alzheimer's Association or Hospice of Northwest Ohio.
