Barbara May "Barb" Brandeberry, age 70, of Toledo, passed away peacefully, Thursday, May 16, 2013 at Heartland of Waterville. She was born on September 22, 1942 to Frederick and Edith (Patrick) Benton in Westerville, Ohio. Barb was a charter member of Bedford Alliance Church. She was a leader of Bible study groups and the Alliance Women's Ministries (WMPF). Barb was a wonderful singer and taught a variety of music. She enjoyed crocheting, puzzles and was the best scrabble player around. Barb loved nothing more than the time spent with her family, especially her grandchildren. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Brenda Kay Sherwood. Barb is survived by her devoted husband of 48 years, Raymond Brandeberry, I; children, Sharon (TJ) Johns, Lisa (Gary) Butler, Connie (Matt) Bryant and Bryan (Kelley) Brandeberry; 14 grandchildren; brother, Ray (Jan) Benton; "adopted" son, Art (Holly) Siegert and his four children; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.
The family will receive guests on Thursday from 2 – 8:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd., Toledo (419-473-0300). Funeral Services will take place Friday at 11:00 a.m. at Bedford Alliance Church, 8645 Jackman Rd., Temperance, MI 48182 with visitation one hour prior. Interment will follow in Toledo Memorial Park.
