Barbara Gail Kondalski

Barbara Gail Kondalski, age 83, resident of Toledo, Ohio, passed away on Thursday, August 4, 2022, at her home surrounded by her family. She was born on February 16, 1939, in Dearborn, Michigan, to the late John and Martha (Kravis) Surbis.
Barbara was a 1957 graduate of Sacred Heart High School in Dearborn, Michigan. She continued her education, graduating in 1961 from Marygrove College in Detroit, Michigan. With her love for music, Barbara had worked for over 50 years as a teacher, from her home, giving voice lessons to those whom shared the same passion for music as she did. Barbara had performed with many musicals throughout her life: Toledo Rep, Village Players, Westgate Dinner Theatre, Toledo Opera, Toledo Symphony, Detroit Symphony, The Croswell Opera House in Adrian, Fort Findlay Playhouse, University of Toledo choir, and some theatres in Florida and Monroe, Michigan. She was a member of Monday Musicale, Mu Phi Epsilon, served as a docent at the Toledo Museum of Art, director of musicals for St. Francis, St. Ursula, Cardinal Stritch High School and was a longtime supporter of the Toledo Choral Society.
Though she was very passionate and fond of music, her number one priority was her family. Being a caregiving to her husband and children was something she truly loved doing. Her musical talent, sense of humor, smile, and love will forever be missed.
Those left to forever cherish her memory are her loving children, Joe (Kim) Kondalski, Michael Kondalski (Pete Cutter), Martha (John) Baird, and Alicia (Tom) Pruss; grandchildren, RJ, Ian, Elle (Oliver), Cassie, Dusty, Caitie, Jillian, Joe, and Jamie; and two great grandchildren, Orion and Adeline.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband whom she missed greatly, Joseph Anthony Kondalski; and a brother, Jack Surbis.
Family and friends may visit at Christ the King Church, 4100 Harvest Lane, Toledo, Ohio 43623, on Friday, August 12, 2022, from 9:30 am until the time of the memorial mass at 10:30 am, with Fr. Dave Nuss officiating. Barbara will be laid to rest, next to Joseph, at Calvary Cemetery.
