Barbara S. Kazmierski, age 76, of Toledo, passed away after a courageous battle with lung cancer on January 5, 2013 at Aspen Grove Assisted Living. She was born on August 22, 1936 to Blain Hammond and Jessie (Reed) Gentry in Greenup, Kentucky. Barbara was a lifelong beautician, retiring from the House of Curl. After her retirement she was active with her son's business, Kaz's Bakery in Sylvania. Barbara enjoyed spending time with her family and going to church. She was especially close to her sisters, who were always there for her.
She is survived by her children, Pam (Ed) Marok; son, Ron (Janice) Kazmierski, Jr.; grandchildren, Derrick (Dawn) Martz, Jocelyn "Susan" Seymour, Barbara (Michael) Lanzi, Chelsea Kazmierski, Zachary Kazmierski and Cassidy Kazmierski; six great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson; sisters, Virginia (Dale) Walters, Janet (Jack) Henry and Gladys (Gene) Thompson. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Ronald A. Kazmierski; son, Michael E. Kazmierski and brother, William Gentry.
The family will receive guests on Friday, January 11, 2013 from 4-6:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd. (419-473-0300). Funeral Services will begin in the funeral home on Saturday at Noon, with visitation one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow in Toledo Memorial Park.
