Barbara J. Strong, age 75 of Toledo passed away unexpectedly Sunday, November 21, 2010 surrounded by her loving family. She was born August 20, 1935 to Walter and Alberta (Seal) Tilton in Port Clinton, Ohio. Barbara worked for Purex Manufacturing, formerly known as Sinclair Manufacturing for a number of years. She later retired from Gladieux Food Service, a subsidiary of the Dana Corporation. Barbara's greatest joy was caring for her family and she loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. In her spare time she enjoyed cooking, baking and playing Bingo.
In October of 1956 she married James F. Barron in Erie, Michigan and together they had five children; Michael A. (Judy) Barron, James F. (Tammi) Barron, Pamela J. (Bill) Glass, Mark F. Barron and Cathaleen L. Barron. Barbara later married Rex A. Strong Sr. and together they united their families making 32 wonderful years of memories.
Left to cherish her memory in addition to her children are her husband; his son, Rex Strong Jr.; seven grandson's; one granddaughter; six great-grandchildren; special nieces, Dawn Owens and Jennifer Mishka and two great-nieces, Emma and Sophia. Preceding her in death are her parents; sister, Rita Dusseau and brother, Phil Reibe.
The family will receive guests Friday from 2-7:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd. (419-473-0300). Funeral Services will begin Friday in the funeral home with Deacon George Mitchell officiating.
