Barbara J. Hancock, age 83, of Toledo, passed away peacefully, Thursday, January 22, 2009 at Ebeid Hospice, Flower Hospital Campus. She was born March 8, 1925 to Daniel and Jane (Czajka) Braibanti in Danbury, Connecticut. Barb formerly lived in Fort Wayne, Indiana and most recently was a resident of Toledo for the last 55 years. She was a longtime member of Christ the King Catholic Church and was actively involved in the Eleanor Kahle Senior Center. Barb had many dear friends and enjoyed going to the theater, concerts and dinner. She was notorious for always wearing pink.
In addition to her parents, Barb was preceded in death by her husband, John Hancock and brother, Dr. Ralph Braibanti. Barb is survived by her children, John G. (Susan) Hancock, P. Douglas (Sandy) Hancock and Pamela J. Livingston; grandchildren, Julie and Christopher.
The family will receive guests on Monday from 4 – 8:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd. (419-473-0300), with Prayer Services at 7:30 p.m. in the funeral home. A Memorial Mass to Celebrate Barb's life will be held, Saturday, January 31, 2009 at Christ the King Catholic Church, 4100 Harvest Lane. Burial Services will be private.
