Barbara J. Hundt, 84, of Toledo, died peacefully Sunday, February 6, 2022 in her home.
She was born September 22, 1937 in Fremont, Ohio to Vince and Verna Haas and was raised in Woodville, Ohio. She was a 1955 graduate of Woodmore High School, and married William Hundt on June 11, 1960.
Barbara used her clerical and bookkeeping skills in her work as a secretary at East Christian Church in Toledo, and at Grace United Methodist Church in Perrysburg. An enthusiast for antiques, she and her husband restored a historic residence in Perrysburg in the 1970s. They later restored a 19th century farmhouse in Toledo.
A world-traveler, Barbara was fortunate to visit Britain, South Africa, Hong Kong, Colombia, New Zealand and many other spots on the map. The only continent she didn't visit was Antarctica.
Barbara was a devoted member of St. Petri Lutheran Church for 35 years, and was a member of Women of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of America (WELCA) and St. Petri's All Thumbs Quilters. Barbara made hundreds of quilts over the years, many of which went to people in need throughout the world.
Her husband survives her, as do her children and their spouses: Beth Hundt and Keith Crews; and Brad and Shanin Hundt. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Roger Haas.
