Barbara E. Hester

Barbara "Barbie" E. Hester, age 71, of Wauseon and formerly of Whitehouse, passed away on Friday, June 24, 2022 at Ebeid Hospice surrounded by her family. Barbara was born November 10, 1950 in Toledo to Carl and Rose (Robinson) Baumgartner.

She was employed with the Bureau of Motor Vehicles for several years and also worked at the American Legion in Wauseon and the VFW in Napoleon up until she became ill. Barbie was a member of the VFW Post 7424 and the American Legion Post 265 in Wauseon, where she was active in the Women's Auxiliary for many years. In her free time, she loved playing euchre with her friends, enjoyed making flowers for any occasion but most of all, loved spending time with her children and grandchildren.

Left to forever cherish her memory are her children, Fredrick (Katie) Kubitz, Sandra (Daniel) Ham, Jasper (Shannon) McIntire; grandchildren, James Kubitz, Nathan Kubitz, Leah Kubitz, Amanda Kubitz, Juniper Pawson, Bowie Pawson, Ellee Ham, and Emilee Ham; siblings, Edward Baumgartner, James Baumgartner, Rose Slagle, Richard (Lynn) Baumgartner, and Robert (Terri) Baumgartner; brother-in-law, Richard (Shirley) Hester and William Lagger.

Barbie was preceded in death by her parents; husband, James Hester; daughter, Kristie "Micki" McIntire; and sister, Sandra Lagger.

The family will receive guests Wednesday, July 6, 2022 from 2:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home - SW Chapel, 4752 Heatherdowns Blvd. (419-381-1900). Funeral Services will begin Thursday, July 7, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. In honor of Barbie, the family would encourage those in attendance to wear something red in remembrance of her favorite bird, the Cardinal and color, red.

Burial will follow at Mount Pleasant Cemetery, 14180 Bailey Rd, Grand Rapids, OH 43522.
