Barbara L. Harris

Barbara L. "Barb" Harris, age 70, of Toledo, passed away Sunday, December 19, 2021 at ProMedica of Perrysburg. She was born on January 18, 1951 to M. Norman and Betty (McVey) Kudla in Lafayette, Louisiana. Barb obtained her Bachelor's Degree in Education and taught for 26 years before retiring. She ended her career at Libbey High School. Barb enjoyed gardening, the outdoors and was an excellent cook and baker. Barb was an avid football fan, especially of New Orleans Saints and LSU Tigers. She loved attending her grandchildren's sporting events whenever she could. Barb looked forward to family gatherings, cooking for them and having everyone together. She loved nothing more than taking every opportunity to spoil her grandchildren, who will deeply miss their "Gabba". Barb's smile, spirit and caring nature will truly be missed by all who knew and loved her.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Erik Schlieman, August 2021; and sister-in-law, Marilyn Kudla.

Left to cherish her memory are her loving husband of 16 years, Ralph Harris, Sr.; son, Daniel (Alicia) Schlieman; daughter-in-law, Angela Schlieman; step-children, Ralph Harris, Jr., Carl Harris and William Harris; grandchildren, Logan, Connor, Austin, and Brock; numerous step-grandchildren; brothers, Alan (Ginger) Kudla and Michael Kudla; and many nieces, nephews and dear friends.

The family will receive guests on Saturday, January 8, 2022 from 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home – West Sylvania Chapel, 3655 King Rd., Toledo (419-392-9500) with Memorial Services beginning at 12:00 p.m. in the funeral home.
