Barbara A. Genson

On Friday, May 10, 2024, our family said our last "I Love You's" and "Goodbyes" to Barbara A. Genson. Barb passed away peacefully while surrounded by her loving family at Hospice of Northwest Ohio. She was born on March 9, 1946, to James and Betty (Tarr) Kurth. She married the love of her life, Roland Genson I, on March 12, 1966.

Barb loved going to the casino, playing Bingo, Yahtzee, bowling, and camping with family and friends. She loved to cheer on The Detroit Red Wings, The Toledo Walleye and The Detroit Tigers. Her family meant everything to her, and they will miss her each and every day.

Barb was preceded in death by her parents and her brothers, James Kurth & Robert Kurth. Left to cherish her memory is her husband of 58 years, Roland Genson I; children, Ron (Jennifer) Genson II, Rick (Kelly) Genson, and Randy Genson; 7 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren, with one on the way; her beloved sister, Frances Kurth; and her special cousin, Beverly Ennis.

The family will receive guests on Friday, May 17, 2024 from 3:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home – Northwest Chapel, 4150 W. Laskey Rd., Toledo (419-473-0300) with a Prayer Service beginning at 6:30 p.m. that evening.

The family would like to send a heartfelt thank you to the staff of Hospice of Northwest Ohio for their compassion and support during Barb's stay.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Hospice of Northwest Ohio or to the family.
