Barbara L. Barnett

Barbara L. Barnett, age 78, of Maumee, Ohio, formerly a longtime resident of Nebraska, passed away Wednesday, August 4, 2021 at Blue Creek Health Care. She was born August 20, 1942 in Watertown, South Dakota to Francis "Pops" and Naomi (Tuksbre) Barnett. Barbara earned 2 Masters Degrees in Education from both The Ohio State University and Northern Colorado University. After college she went onto become a teacher for more than 32 years retiring in 2000. Many of those years Barbara taught at Hastings Public Schools in Nebraska. She also held teaching positions on a Navaho Indian Reservation in New Mexico and in Washington Courthouse, Ohio. After she retired Barbara moved to Ohio to be closer to her family.

Barbara was a talented artist creating many beautiful paintings and chalk drawings over the years. She also enjoyed working in her flower gardens and helping others plant and cultivate their own gardens. Barbara was known for her love for animals, caring for her own cats and pet-sitting for others.

Barbara was preceded in death by her loving parents. She is survived by her brother, Bert (Sharon) Barnett, Sr.; nephew, Bert (Sharon) Barnett, Jr.; niece, Sherri (Greg) Hermes; great nephews & nieces, Greg, Miranda, Grant, Brock and Luke. Barbara's family is also appreciative of her many supportive neighbors.
