Aurora B. Raya

Aurora Belinda Raya, 47, of Toledo, OH unexpectedly passed away on October 2, 2022. She was born on June 23, 1975 in Mayaguez, Puerto Rico to Roberto Raya and Beverly Hardaway.
Aurora was educated by the Toledo Public School system and was a 1993 Rogers High School graduate. She completed her LPN licensing through Toledo Practical School of Nursing in January 1999, and then enhanced her nursing career in May 2014 by obtaining her ADN at Owens State Community College, thus becoming an RN. Aurora was a dedicated and compassionate nurse at Promedica Flower Hospital for over 23 years in the Orthopedic Med/Surg unit. She took her occupation very seriously and provided all of her patients with the utmost care and respect. Her advocacy for them went above and beyond. Aurora's volunteer work consisted of feeding the less fortunate through the Toledo Labre Program, partnered with St. John's Jesuit.
When Aurora was not at work, she loved to spend time with her family. Aaron, Ashley, AJ, and Maxton were her world, as well as pets Panda, Shadow King, and Martell. She enjoyed cooking for her family, furry babies included. Her famous taco bake, fried cabbage, baked beans, and twice baked potatoes could not be duplicated. Some of her other hobbies included gardening, wine tasting, going to the casino, bird watching, traveling, restaurant touring, and of course, shopping. She also had a high interest in cars, dog breeds, music, and Game of Thrones.
Aurora Raya is survived by her mother, Beverly Hardaway; love of her life and father of her children, Aaron L. Parks; children, Ashley Parks (Rob) and Aaron J. Parks; grandbaby, Maxton Morrison; sisters, Raquel Raya and Shay Bankston; close friends, Deanna Sutton and Amanda Wheeler; and lots of other loving relatives and friends.
Her contagious laugh and fun spirit will never be forgotten.
The family will receive guests Saturday, October 22, 2022 from 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. & 3:00 p.m. - 5:30 p.m. at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - SW Chapel, 4752 Heatherdowns Blvd. (419-381-1900) where Funeral Services will begin at 5:30 p.m.
