Audrey M. Whistler

Audrey M. (Ogdahl) Whistler, of Sylvania Township, has gone to be with our Lord and Savior Jesus after her Earthly journey of almost 97 years. She passed away on Saturday, August 13, 2016. Audrey was born in a small town in Minnesota near St. Cloud on November 28, 1919. She came to Toledo in 1935 being reunited with her mother, brothers and sisters after the death of her father. Audrey was a Libbey High School graduate of 1937 and she met the love of her life, Emmett S. Whistler at the Trianon Ballroom in 1938 and they were married in 1940 until his death in 1987. Audrey was the last surviving member of her family after the death of her mother and father and her 3 brothers and 3 sisters. She enjoyed life and liked using her many talents and abilities like artwork, crafts, and gardening to name a few. But her greatest love besides her many friends and family members were to serve the Lord. To witness for Christ and children's ministries, such as Good News Club, Clap Your Hands Club, and children's ministries, teaching jr. church classes until she was 86 years old.

Audrey is survived by her four children, Sherry Jagielski, Pamela Burns, Diane Jensen and Daniel Whistler; grandchildren, Tammy (Chuck) Bernath, Thomas (Amanda) Jagielski, Timothy (Helena) Jagielski, Terry (Aimie) Jagielski, Todd (Joni) Jagielski, Christie (Joe M.) Whistler, and Jason and Stephanie; and numerous great grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her son-in-law, Leon Jagielski.

The family would like to thank everyone for all of their prayers and the staff and management at Arbors at Sylvania and Lakes at Monclova.

The family will receive guests on Friday from 2 – 8:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd., Toledo (419-473-0300). Funeral Services will begin Saturday at 10:30 a.m. in the funeral home. Interment will follow in Toledo Memorial Park.
