Ashley H. "Pat" Fitzpatrick, age 82, of Toledo, passed away Saturday, June 25th, 2011 at Harborside of Point Place. He was born April 15th, 1929 to Alva and Marie (Smith) Fitzpatrick in Ft. Benning, Georgia. Pat was a former longtime resident of Columbus, but has resided in Toledo with his wife and family for more than 40 years. He graduated from Woodward High School, Class of 1947 and began working with Libbey Glass at the age of 17. Pat continued his worked at Libbey for 17 years. He then began working as a Quality Control Inspector with Chrysler in Toledo, until retiring after for 23 years of service in 1994. He was a 32 Degree Mason for several years active with the Van Wert, Ohio Lodge. Pat was an avid fan of the Ohio State Buckeyes and "Coach Dressel", as well as a supporter of Jeff Gordon and Nascar. Most importantly, Pat was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather and he was very proud of his grandchildren and all of their accomplishments.
In addition to his parents, Pat was preceded in death by his sisters, Dorothy and Mary. He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Johnnie (Bowling) Fitzpatrick; daughter, Helen (Big Mac) McDermott and son, James (Kathleen) Fitzpatrick, all of Toledo; grandchildren, Rhonda (David) Williams and Regina Culp; great grandchildren, Shayna, Miranda and Jerrica Reiger-Culp and David, Christopher and Andrew Williams; sister, Jean Davis and brother, John Fitzpatrick.
The family will receive guests Tuesday from 2-8:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd. (419-473-0300). Funeral Services will begin Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. in the funeral home. Entombment will follow at Toledo Memorial Park.
