Arthur G. Simon, age 88, of Toledo, passed away Saturday, July 8, 2006 at Kingston Care Center. He was born on October 15, 1917 to Edward and Anna (Rudeau) Simon in Toledo. Arthur was employed with Ohio Bell Telephone for 21 years and 6 months and then the New York Central Railroad for 20 years, retiring in 1976. He was an original member of the 3-C's, which started in 1932. Arthur was a member of many bowling leagues, helped sell Old Newsboy papers, loved the outdoors and enjoyed pitching horseshoes. Arthur was a yearly contributor to the Toledo Zoo, expressing his love for animals. He was a very caring and loving man, who will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Bill Simon, and sisters, Josephine Lewandowski and Adele Bowers. Arthur is survived by his loving daughter: Gloria Long, of Sylvania; granddaughter: Ronda Tober, of Sylvania; great-grandson: Bradley Tober; sister: Henrietta Cooper; dear friend: Robert Sweet; dear friend and caregiver: Lenny Graef; and many nieces, nephews and dear friends.
