Arthur Finney

Arthur J. "Art" Finney, age 82, of Toledo, passed away peacefully, Wednesday, April 1, 2009 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Toledo. He was born November 18, 1926 to Arthur and Helen (Geis) Finney in Toledo. Throughout Art's life he worked in the Tool and Die industry. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy serving his country proudly during World War II. Art was an avid golfer and enjoyed playing cards and watching baseball, especially the Toledo Mud Hens. Art also liked to travel and learn new things. He loved being around people and never met a stranger. Art was a very kind, caring, loving father, grandfather, brother and friend who will be deeply missed by all of those who knew and loved him.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia Finney, son, James M. Wages, sister, Jean Marie Finney and brother, Gerald Finney. Art is survived by his loving children, Jean (John) Phelgar, Dennis (Cheryl) Finney, Pam (Robert "Buzz") Eyler, Michael (Ruby) Finney and Norman (Dennis) McFall; 8 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; brother, John (Gloria) Finney; cousin and friend, Joan Green; and many other family members, his golfing buddies and dear friends.

The family will receive guests on Sunday from 1 - 5:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd. (419-473-0300) with Funeral Services beginning at 5:00 p.m.
