Arthur A. "Art" Lutz, age 100, of Sylvania Township, passed away at home on Saturday, May 21, 2016. He was born on March 28, 1916 to Emmett and Pearl (Schumacher) Lutz in Toledo. Art was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He was employed with the Jersey Bread Co. for 35 years before retiring. Art enjoyed taking bus trips to the Windsor Casino, with his many friends and family and will be deeply missed sitting in seat 1 on the bus. Art also enjoyed traveling, cruising and playing cards. He will be sadly missed by his family and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife of 67 years, Ida Lutz in 2009; sister, Dorothy Malecki; and brothers, Russell and Roswell Lutz. Art is survived by his loving children; son, Arthur (Donna) Lutz; daughters, Linda (Bob) James and Joyce (Tom) Conlin; 8 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren and one on the way and 4 great-great grandchildren.
The family will receive guests on Thursday from 3 – 8:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd., Toledo (419-473-0300). Funeral Services will begin Friday at 10:00 a.m. in the funeral home. Officiating will be Fr. James Auth. Entombment will follow in Toledo Memorial Park.
