Arnold "Barney" Klostermeier
Arnold "Barney" Klostermeier, passed away at Hospice of Northwest Ohio in Perrysburg on Saturday, March 26, 2005 at the age of 83. He was born in Swanton, Ohio on July 10, 1921 to Fred and Minnie (Wahl) Klostermeier. Barney lived in Toledo most of his life, moving to Bowling Green, Ohio six months ago with his family. A veteran of the U.S. Army and the U.S. Marine Corps, Arnold retired after 28 years with Libbey Glass in 1982. Barney loved all sports and his favorite teams were the Ohio State Buckeyes, Detroit Tigers and the U.T. Rockets. He also enjoyed Nascar racing.
He loved his family and will be greatly missed by all. Barney was preceded in death by his loving wife of 46 years, Naomi (Shope) Klostermeier, his grandson, Timothy and two brothers, Fritz and Robert Klostermeier.
Surviving are his sons; Kim (Wanda) and Terry (Phoenicia) Klostermeier, daughters; Bonnie (Don) Bigger and Darlene (Roger) Weaver, 12 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, his brother; Ed Klostermeier and sisters; Eleanor Baldwin and Phyllis Sullivan.
The family will receive guests from 2 – 8 p.m. Wednesday in the Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Road, (419-473-0300) where funeral services will follow Thursday, March 31, 2005 at 1:00 p.m. Entombment will be in Restlawn Memorial Park.
