Arletta Jean Stautzenbach (Ness), 82, passed away surrounded by her loving family on July 17th, 2011. She was born on July 2nd, 1929 to the late Ethel and Arthur Ness.
Jean graduated from Libbey High School, was a member of St. Petri Lutheran Church and a lifetime member of DAV. She loved to travel when she could and her favorite trips were to California with her husband, Bob. She loved baseball, music, movies, playing cards and crossword puzzles and would watch "Gone With the Wind" over and over. Once a month Jean would meet with the "Hen Club", who were her childhood friends, for lunch. She will be remembered for her kindness, generosity and sense of humor.
In addition to her parents, Jean was preceded in death by her sisters, Betty Anteau and Elaine Mattes. Left to cherish her memory is her loving husband of 57 years, Bob; children, Gay (Richard) Kranz, Bill (Jackie) Stautzenbach, Beth (Ed) Fleig, Mary Stautzenbach, Lori (Rick) Sherrer, Julie Stautzenbach; grandchildren, Brett and Nicole Kranz, Ian and Ryan Stautzenbach, Matt , Chris and Tyler Fleig, Ricky and Robby Sherrer; sister, Jackie Jewell and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive guests on Wednesday from 2-8:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4752 Heatherdowns Blvd. (419-381-1900). Funeral services will be Thursday at 11 a.m. in the funeral home. Visitation one hour prior to service. Pastor David Vinciguerra officiating. Interment at Ottawa Hills Memorial Park.
Memorial donations in Jean's name may be made to: HNWO or the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation in honor of daughter, Lori Sherrer.
The family would like to thank the nurses on 17 West of The Toledo Hospital and HNWO for the special care given to Jean.
