Ardis M. Ziegler, age 76, of Toledo, passed away peacefully Friday, June 19, 2009 at home surrounded by her loving family. She was born September 18, 1932 to Chester and Sybil Brown. Ardis grew up in Toledo and graduated from Devilbiss High School in 1950. She sang in the choir at Upton E.U.B. Church, played the piano and hammer dolsimer. Ardis won first place for singing on The Ted Mack Show. She worked at Toledo Scale in the Personnel Department. Ardis was an oil painter and a member of The Toledo Artist Club and The Toledo Women's Art League. She loved her flowers and to teach her friends from other countries English. Ardis will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
Ardis is survived by her loving husband of 56 years, Neal Ziegler; sons, William (Deborah) and Mike Ziegler; grandchildren, Juli (Sean) Drake and William Jr. (Kate) Ziegler; great-grandchildren, Nona and William Henry Ziegler and Elizabeth and Helen Drake. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Billy Brown and sister, Nona Braun.
The family will receive guests on Tuesday from 3 – 7:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd. (419-473-0300). Funeral Services will begin Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. in the funeral home. Interment will follow in Toledo Memorial Park.
