Apostle Bernadine L. White was born to George and Pearl (Sykes) Foster on September 22, 1934 in Toledo, OH. She passed away peacefully on September 2, 2022 at Heatherdowns Nursing Facility.
She graduated from Libbey High School and was active in sports in her youth. Bernadine loved the game of baseball and was a left handed pitcher. She went from pitching baseball to pitching the Word of God. She also was a fantastic musician, choir director, Sunday School Teacher, Prayer Warrior, Preacher and encouraged and taught many.
She worked for St. Vincent's Hospital for 41 years and upon her retirement she went into the Ministry full-time. Christian Love Fellowship Ministries was organized September of 1996 at the home of Pastor White, on Glenwood Ave. Then she moved her Church to Western Ave in 1998. Barbara Lightfoot, her sister purchased the Church on Junction in 1999 where the congregation still has services.
She walked with God and Friday, September 2, 2022 he called her Home to join the rest of her family, friends and loved ones whom have gone Home before. She had a prophetic gift under the direction of the Holy Spirit. She was tender hearted, very loving and always helping people.
She was called Apostle, Pastor, Reverend, Mom, Grannie, Bernie, friend, confidant and lots of other enduring names. Her laugh, her smile, her powerful prayers, words of wisdom and everything else about her will truly be missed.
Bernadine was preceded in death by her parents, George and Pearl Foster; son, Marvin; brothers, George, Robert, Wilbert, Gerald and Ronald and sisters, Bonnie, Vondella and Barbara. She leaves to cherish and honor her memory, her children, Gregory (Valerie), Jerome and Laletrice; sisters, Catherine (Duane) Ellis and Nancy Foster; daughter-in-law, Linda; grandchildren, Aundrea, Tiffany, Gregory "Scooter," Jerome, Jr., Marlon, Shera, Shawntell, Marvin, Jr. and Djuane, and a host of great-grandchildren, ministers and friends.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, September 13, 2022 from 2:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. at Newcomer SW Chapel, 4752 Heatherdowns Blvd. (419-381-1900). The Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, September 14, 2022 from 10:00 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. at First Church of God located at 3016 Collingwood Ave., Toledo, OH 43610.
