Anthony J. Maran, Sr.
March 2, 1932 — November 21, 2012
Anthony J. Maran, Sr., 80, passed away peacefully on November 21, 2012. He was born on March 2, 1932 to the late Frank and Innocenza (Pelligrino) Maran in Toledo, Ohio.
Tony was a 1950 graduate of DeVilbiss High School. He retired from Champion Sparkplug in 1991 after 38 years of service. Tony enjoyed bowling, playing cards, going to the casino and traveling. He was an avid UT Sports fan, especially the Ladies' Basketball Team.
In addition to his parents, Tony was preceded in death by his brothers, Sam and Louie. Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife of 28 years, Joanne; children, Debbie Patton, Joe (Robin) and Cathy (Doug) Westfall; step-children, Debbie (Mike) Fligor, Rick (Sharon) Reucher and Sandra (Rich) Waite; siblings, Jenny (Dutch), Richye, Jim (Carol), Frank (Betty) and Tom (JoAnn); 14 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
The Family will receive guests on Sunday, November 25, 2012 from 2-8:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd., Toledo (419-473-0300). A Scripture Service will begin at 7:00 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday at St. Joseph Church, 5373 Main St., Sylvania. Fr. Charles Ritter officiating. Burial at Toledo Memorial Park.
The Family requests memorial donations to be made to Hospice of Northwest Ohio.
