Anthony J. "Baker" Candella, Sr.
Anthony J. "Baker" Candella, Sr. age 87 of Toledo passed away Thursday, December 22, 2005 in Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Toledo. He was born February 14, 1918 to Joseph and Mable (Besase) Candella in Detroit, Michigan. Tony was employed with Jeep Corporation and Grande Cheese Company, retiring in 1993. He enjoyed golfing and fishing with his sons and was a former owner of several race horses.
In addition to his parents, Tony was preceded in death by 3 brothers. He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Mary L. (Villhauer) Candella; sons, Michael (Marcia) and Anthony, Jr.; grandchildren, Nicole (Richard) Cantieri and Mark (Tanaya) Candella and 3 great grandchildren. Tony is also survived by many dear relatives and friends.
Services were private and interment was at Calvary Cemetery.
The Candella Family wishes to thank Tony's doctors, nurses and caregivers at Toledo Hospital and Hospice of Northwest Ohio for their loving care and support.
In lieu of flowers, Memorial Contributions may be made to NW Ohio Hospice or Blessed Sacrament Church.
