Annette Marie Mcgorty

September 12, 1959 — September 26, 2023

Annette (Blowers) McGorty, 64, went to her heavenly home on September 26 as she was surrounded by her loving family after a battle with cancer.

Annette was born on September 12, 1959 to her parents Joseph and Carolyn Blowers. Growing up in North Toledo, she graduated from Woodward High School in 1977. After high school, she studied at Davis Business College which led to her 30 year career in the Lucas County Clerk of Courts Auto Title division. When she retired in 2009, she was able to dedicate more time to the things she loved: her family and her religion.

Annette was a life long member of Riverside Baptist Church and was active in the youth group growing up. After Riverside merged with other local churches, she became a member of Cass Road Baptist Church. At Cass Road Annette volunteered with Sunday School, numerous committees and boards, organizer of the church rummage sale and so much more. Annette saw her volunteering at church as an extension of showing Christ's love to everyone. She wanted everyone to know how much God has blessed her life and she wanted to pass it on by living as an example of Christ.

Her love and passion was on full display for her family. Annette actually met her husband of 33 years, Duane, at Riverside when they were children. They were married on August 18, 1990. A little over a year later they welcomed their first son, Scott, followed by their second son Joel a few years after. Over the course of the years as Scott and Joel grew, you could find Annette in the audience of a school show or braving the elements cheering at a baseball game. In 2019, Annette welcomed her daughter-in-law Christine to the family when she married Joel. In 2020, a new title was added: grandmother. Annette was a grandmother to twins, Dallas and Denver, and most recently again in 2023 to Jackson. Whenever someone asked her about her family she beamed with pride and would always tell you how much she loved them.

Annette leaves behind life lessons of treating each other with kindness, respect and love. These Christian traits were always on display and they will always be instilled in those who knew her. Annette was proceeded in death by her mother Carolyn and brother William. She is survived by her loving father, Joseph, husband Duane, children Scott and Joel (Christine), her three grandchildren Dallas, Denver and Jackson, numerous nieces and nephews and so many more who loved her.

God blessed her with many nurses, aids, and social workers from Hospice. "I have seen God's hands working in so many places in life. There are so many times I can look back and say thank you God. I know that was Him taking care of me. I could never praise or give thanks to God enough." -Annette
