Anna M. Mueller

Anna M. Mueller, age 102, of Toledo, passed away October 17, 2017 at Sunset House. Anna was born September 3, 1915 to Frederick and Gertrude (Staab) Wegener. Anna was a lifelong member of St. Mary Parish until it's closing, its Altar and Rosary Sodality, and volunteer organist. After St. Mary's closing she became a member of St. Pius X Parish in Toledo, Ohio.

She is survived by her children, John F. Mueller, Mary A. Damschroder, Robert J. Mueller, sister, Elizabeth A. Wegener, brother, Frederick C. Wegener, 8 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Francis J. Mueller; her parents, sisters, Ruth Schaal, Gertrude Weter and Alma Beck, and son-in-law Bud Damschroder.

Anna was an accomplished pianist having taken five years of lessons and participated in numerous plays and musicals as a young adult. She graduated from Davis Business College in September 1935 and advanced in pay while working at a number of companies. In December of 1944 she married Francis, who had just returned from overseas service in WWII, and then became a homemaker raising three children.

The family will receive guests Friday, October 27, 2017 from 2:00 pm - 8:00 pm at Newcomer Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 4150 W. Laskey Rd. (419-473-0300). Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday at 10:30 a.m. at St. Pius X Catholic Church, with visitation beginning at 10 a.m. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery.

Sincere thanks to the many outstanding staff members of Sunset House, especially the nurses and aides whose kindness and care Anna appreciated so much. A special thank you to Ellen, an incredible nurse and friend who took care of Anna and other family members who resided at Sunset House over the years.
