Anna Belle (Straw) Morley, age 94, formerly of Orland, Indiana, passed away on Saturday, November 24, 2018 at Ebeid Hospice in Sylvania, Ohio with her loving family by her side. She was born on March 17, 1924 to Herman and Francis (Kentner) Straw in Orland, Indiana. Anna Belle married the love of her life, Marvin M. Morley on June 25, 1950 in Orland, Indiana. She and her husband were members of Asbury U.M.C. for over 40 years before recently joining St. Andrew's U.M.C. Ann was a talented woman, she could do just about anything, gardening, sewing, painting, ceramics, home decorating, embroidery and various other crafts and hobbies. Many people benefited from her sewing talents. She was also an avid reader having read thousands of books and had donated over 100 Civil War books to the Orland Library.
Anna Belle and Marvin spent many years traveling and appreciating wildlife, bird watching, collecting beach glass and searching for pudding stones. She was a dedicated and loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and will be deeply missed.
Left to cherish her memory is her husband of 69 years, Marvin M. Morley; children, Kerry (Nancy) Morley and Shannon (James) Maddox; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; brothers, Robert and Herman, Jr. "Frostie" Straw and 25 nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Norma Engle, Marjorie Petty, Elaine Conrad; Louis, Buster, Arden and Gordon Straw.
The family will receive guests on Tuesday, November 27, 2018 from 2-8:00 p.m. at Newcomer - Northwest Chapel, 4150 W. Laskey Rd. (419-473-0300). Her Funeral Service will begin in the funeral home on Wednesday, November 28, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. with Pastor Laura Bensman officiating. Graveside Services will be held at 1:15 p.m. on Wednesday in Greenlawn Cemetery in Orland, Indiana.
The family invites friends to gather for a luncheon in celebration of Annie's life immediately following the graveside service at American Legion Post 423, 6215 N. State Road 327, Orland, IN.
