Anna Mae Matthews

Anna Mae Matthews, age 85, of Toledo, passed away peacefully Wednesday, March 1, 2017 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio. She was born on June 29, 1931 to James and Martha (Hoy) Goachee in Toledo. Anna Mae retired from Teledyne CAE after 20 years. She was a longtime member of Bethany Lutheran Church. Anna Mae loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, John Matthews; and daughter, Sharon Marie Matthews. Anna Mae is survived by her loving sons, John (Susan), of Toledo, Robert (Beth), of Temperance and Thomas Matthews, of Toledo; grandchildren, Jackie (Loren), Brad, Melissa, Brooke (Steve), Madeleine and Wesley; 7 great-grandchildren; sister, Joann Hamilton; and dear friends.

The family will receive guests on Tuesday from 2 – 7:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd., Toledo (419-473-0300) with Funeral Services beginning at 7:00 p.m. in the funeral home.
